Happy July 4th to you, especially if you’re celebrating America’s independence from a tyrannical king long ago, which was.. um.. so unlike what we have today.
Happy July 5th, 6th and 7th, too! (Yay, weekend!)
I read a meme last night that said, “Childhood punishments — ‘Stay in.’ ‘Go to your room.’ ‘Take a nap.’ — have become my adult goals.” Pretty much!
One of us is working (pony camp with the pup!) today, but everyone else hereabouts is off to go do battle with traffic, parking, beach portions, boom boxes gone bad, and the ever overwhelming combination of lighter fluid and suntan lotion.
I’m mostly gearing up for the battle of staving off nap time. DH will return soon enough from his breakfast with the guys. I already told him I’m not up for going anywhere exciting, so we’ll probably just putter around here on various projects in the deafening quiet. (I put my A/C in the window yesterday and there’s another unit upstairs; I’m good! Might even get something accomplished!)
Tomorrow is another big outing day. It’ll also be another quiet, no lines, mostly insiding day! (Well, I’m dog-sitting while the youngest of us head to Fun Town/Splash Town!)
God bless America — and everywhere else on this earth, please.
And, if possible, enjoy!
